Superior Maintenance Technology

In April 1991 SMT Superior Maintenance Technology was founded selling Mainlube Specialised Lubricants.
 
During those early years companies such as Swickers Bacon, South Burnett Meat Works, Raptis Pax, Nestle Gympie, Sanitarium Health Foods,
Alphapharm, 7 Up Pepsi and Coca Cola became customers buying Mainlube food grade lubricants, later on John Dee Warwick and Dreamworld 
also placed orders. In 2008 Woolworths Distribution Centre but Mainlube 155 SB Gear Oil in 28 SEW Industrial gearboxes buying a total of 1080
Litres of that oil, some of those gearboxes are still running the original oil @ more than 62,000 hours. Mainlube offers exceptional Grease and Oils.
 
In 2006 SMT Superior Maintenance Technology became the importer / distributor of SMT2 Synthetic Anti-friction Metal Treatment and promoted 
this unique addition to oils used in Vehicles and other applications, this product was tested at QUT on the Falex Pin and Vee Block Test Rig, when
added to Shell Spirax 85w/140 Differential Oil @ 10% the test rig maxxed out at 4500 ft Lbs with no failure, the Shell Spirax had failed @ 3000 ft lbs

SMT2 Information

SMT2 is formulated for use in all iron and steel {Fe} and combination of Fe and non Fe metals which interact as lubricant-reliant moving parts, which involve:

  • High loads
  • Elevated temperatures
  • Extreme pressures
  • High sliding speeds and pressures combined
  • Lack of lubrication 
SMT2 is….
  • Not an additive as such – SMT2 is a true anti-friction metal treatment when added to Oil or Grease
  • Not derived from petroleum – SMT2 is the worlds most advanced synthetic metal treatment   
  • Not an oil – SMT2 is a metal treatment that uses existing lubricants to carry it to the ferrous (Fe) metal load zones
  • Not a colloidal solution and does not contain solids – SMT2 contains no nano-particles that can accumulate in filters. SMT2 is soluble in lubricants and fluids. Being chemically inert, it does not disturb the pH-balance of engine oils and gearbox additive oil additive packages. 
  • Not only inert to component materials, but also, in a number of cases, blocks oxidizing processes on the surfaces of metals in lubricating systems.

  • Automotive – motor vehicles, motor sport, 4 wheel drives, camper vans, heavy duty truck motors, standard transmissions, differentials, hubs, wheel bearings, automatic transmissions and power steering
  • Heavy Industrial and Manufacturing – mining, oil refining / drilling, paper making, steel mills, wind farms, plastic pipe extrusion etc.
  • Drills – taps, saws, milling cutters, and all machine cutting tools
  • Forestry – chainsaws, chain and bar and 2-stroke fuel
  • Pre-assembly lube (SMT2 contains no metals that can confuse oil analysis readings and affords greater protection to new metal surfaces)

Will the use of SMT2 void warranties?

SMT2 meets or exceeds all OEM lubrication standards because it does NOT affect the pH of any fluid into which it is introduced. SMT2 is a pure concentrate metal treatment only.

What does SMT2 do for the equipment that is treated?

SMT2 significantly reduces friction, thereby providing:

  • More power to motorised equipment (increased rpm or same rpm at improved energy efficiency)
  • Horsepower increase using less fuel (see dyno testing)
  • Cooler operation in engines, transmissions, gearboxes, sliding devices, and bearing assemblies
  • Longer equipment life (oil test analysis shows documented equipment longevity)
Significantly longer service cycles

SMT2 offers protection against high wear debris build-up in extreme environments. SMT2 only affects ferrous (Fe) metal parts; therefore, it can be safely used in hydraulic systems, HVAC pumps, conveyor systems, automatic transmissions, gear boxes, transfer cases, crankcases, differentials, coolants, fuel, and chain cases – virtually any friction environment.

Does SMT2 wear out?

No! SMT2 does not wear out. However, due to physics, it must be replaced each time the oil, lubricant, or grease is replaced. When the engine oil in an automobile is changed every 5,000 kilometres, or earlier than normal SMT2 should be added at 50% of the initial dose rate.

Oil stability using SMT2

SMT2 is a metal treatment that microscopically leaches through the porosity of the metal itself thus permeating the surface of ferrous metals. However, when a petroleum-based oil product is introduced into the oil in use, the additive package pH and suspension agent of the oil may be altered. When the pH is wrong, the “additive package” is out of balance and can cause acidic build-up and corrosion.
SMT2 does not change any of this.
